Game Design & Programming

Game design has been my hobby and passion for virtually my entire life - especially if you count my overactive child imagination's scribbling! I've been learning programming and game design for over 15 years, and have been active in and made lifelong friendships through a variety of game design communities. Game Maker is my primary specialty to this day, though I'm pretty flexible and have bashed my head against even the perils of SNES assembly before.

Below is a sampling of some of the work I contributed to the largest amateur project I was involved in, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3. It's hard to show *everything* about programming in just one video, but said project also gave me plenty of experience with bug-fixing, cutscene work, wrangling GitHub to work properly, and connecting disparate assets together with proper triggers.

I've also proto-typed a few professional projects that have yet to see release with developer friends of mine. Below is an alpha build of 'Toxic Dreams', an original action platformer themed around nightmares and inspiration from Metroid Fusion. I did the majority of the programming work in this video, including the player character's movement and moveset.

Level Design

Below a sampling of some of the levels I've designed for the various projects I've been involved with, as well as various level design contests over the years. I have a strong passion for levels with a specific flow, with distinct obstacles, memorable gimmicks, and a good amount of challenge above all else.

I upload most of the levels I design to my YouTube channel, both for casual non-serious projects and the passion projects I've dedicated years of my life to.
